AAPS is honored to announce our endorsement of Tamzin Rosenwasser, MD, for a position on the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board, to fix problems that jeopardize patient care. In a race that has attracted national attention, Sarasota County voters get to choose hospital board members in the upcoming August 20th and general elections,
Like far too many hospitals, Sarasota Memorial interfered with patients’ rights during the COVID pandemic. For example, while coercing patients to take dangerous but lucrative drugs like remdesivir, it denied patients the option to receive safer, less expensive off-label treatments including ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine.
This race has attracted widespread national and even international publicity as the medical freedom slate, led by Dr. Rosenwasser, vows to end the hospital policies that interfere with the patient-doctor relationship. Record-breaking fundraising by incumbents currently on the Board is trying to fend off this grassroots uprising.
If elected, Dr. Rosenwasser promises she will guide hospital policy that:
- Treats Patients With Respect and Compassion;
- Restores Support for the Patient-Doctor Relationship;
- Finds and Fixes What Went Wrong During COVID;
- Protects Doctors and Patients from Coerced Treatment and Denial of Treatment.
She is dedicated to healing patients, and is alarmed by corporations and medical corporatists who have bought and taken over hospitals and doctors’ practices, and think doctors are there to “manage covered lives,” prioritizing profit and cost containment over patient well-being.
