FOIA request: Documents Regarding EHR Claims

FOIA request made by AAPS on several divisions of HHS:

All documents (including emails) that support or refute the claim that a broader adoption of electronic health records can save lives.

Fee waiver request: $250 maximum, with fee waiver request

Document Dates: 1/1/2008 – 04/015/2012

Request a fee waiver because these requested documents would “contribute significantly to public understanding” concerning the benefits (or lack of benefits) of electronic health records. Electronic health records are affecting many patients and the quality of their care. This request is not for any commercial interest. Instead, this request is being submitted on behalf of a non-profit physician group, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, which is an additional reason for granting a fee waiver or reduction in fees.
