S. 2842: Caregiver Corps Act of 2014

Introduced in Senate September 17, 2014: This bill recognizes that there are a lot of older and disabled that need continuing care and is looking for a way to finance non-profits to see to this need. Good in sense that (1) it is not a euthanasia corps, (2) no focus on trying to unionize caregivers (big issue in California) thus making it more expensive to have a home health aide.

Selected Bill Text: “It is the purpose of this Act to establish a Caregiver Corps program to foster the creation of community-based Corps programs that provide for volunteer community service opportunities to address the shortage of assistance available for older adults and individuals with disabilities.”
