Contact Senate on Wednesday & Senate Status Update

ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, BETWEEN NOON & 3PM EST, JOIN CITIZENS FROM ACROSS THE USA AND TELL THE SENATE TO VOTE NO

Please take these 2 steps:

Tell the Senators to “VOTE NO” on the “motion to proceed” to healthcare bill.

1.  CLICK HERE TO 1) WRITE, 2) CALL, AND 3) TWEET THE TWO SENATORS IN YOUR STATE (Please do all 3)

2.  CLICK HERE TO CALL THE LIST OF OTHER TARGETED SENATORS (SCROLL DOWN PAGE for fax #s and district office #s for these key Senators.)

The Democrats need 60 votes (three-fifths of the Senate) in order to proceed to debate and vote on the bill itself.  We need to make sure they don’t get those 60 votes!

We need your help to flood the Senate with calls on Wednesday between Noon and 3pm EST!  Take Back Medicine and AAPS have teamed to up with 25 other groups to hold High Noon for Healthcare.  It is a large-scale coordinated effort representing Americans across the entire U.S.A. to make the most impact.

When you click to proceed you will be redirected to HighNoonforHealthcare.org — so we can log as many responses as possible from all of the groups.

Last week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi rammed her health care bill through the House late Saturday night.

Now, news reports indicate that Senate Democrats are following former President Bill Clinton’s advice by rushing through a bill that Americans don’t support and haven’t even read.

Enacting this legislation would allow government bureaucrats in Washington to make important medical decisions – something we cannot allow.  With your help and the help of your fellow Americans across the country this bill can be stopped in the Senate.

SENATE STATUS UPDATE

The Hill is reporting that:

  • The motion to proceed will come to the Senate floor by Friday.
  • If the Republicans try to force a reading of the bill on the floor then the Democrats will use procedural maneuvers to keep the Senate in session 24 hours a day all weekend long.
  • If the motion to proceed passes then the Senate will work full time after the Thanksgiving break to have a bill passed before Christmas.
  • If the bill is passed in the Senate the reconciliation conference with the House will proceed through the Christmas break in order to have a bill on President Obama’s desk before the State of the Union address in January.
