HHS announced that changes to the front page of the Healthcare.gov website are being imprelmeented to streamline users’ experience and relieve some of the problems many were facing when tryng to enroll in the exchanges (Politico).

Motley Fool recently discussed a simple measure that could have prevented the bottleneck and subsequent meltdown of the health insurance exchange website: letting users windowshop and actually see what policies they could get. Forcing consumers sign up to see what health insurance they could obtain is ultimately what caused the multitude of issues with the site (Motley Fool).

Despite the Obama Administration touting the “tech surge” that will address the broken Healthcare.gov website, the problem will take at the very least, weeks to fix and as many as 5 million lines of code will have to be rewritten (New York Magazine).

Six prime contractors received as much as $200 million to design the Healthcare.gov website, with the total amount the government expended on the site is closer to $400 million (CNN).

John McCain is pushing Republicans in Congress to show a united front in order to properly combat and ultimately defund Obamacare (The Guardian).

Administration officials reported 476,000 people filled out applications through the federal and state exchanges, but the actual number of those enrolled is still unknown (Fox News).

Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other Democrats are running for political cover after the law they championed has had a disastrous beginning following the massive disruptions on the Healthcare.gov website (Politico).

While President Obama maintains the healthcare law is a “good deal,” he said nobody is madder than him about Healthcare.gov’s problems (USA Today).
