NJ Alert: Stop Vaccination Tracking Database

This Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 1pm, the NJ Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee is holding a hearing on S3240, a bill that aims to push “any person not currently enrolled” into the state’s vaccine tracking registry.

The tracking registry can be accessed by a wide range of entities: “health care providers, schools, colleges, licensed child care centers, public agencies, and private organizations as determined by regulation of the commissioner.”

While the legislation provides an opportunity for an individual to request opting-out of tracking, the information is by default required to be handed over to the registry without the patient’s affirmative consent, in violation of longstanding principles of medical privacy upheld by ethical physicians who practice according to the Oath of Hippocrates.

It is clearly improper for government agencies to violate patients’ rights in this manner. This is especially harmful during a time when COVID vaccination status is being weaponized to control the ability to work, go to school, or simply participate in society, through mandates for vaccines that do not prevent infection or transmission, and have questionable safety profiles.

Please send NJ Senate HHS committee members a message ASAP, before the Thursday hearing, asking them to oppose this bad bill.
