Doctors tell DC: “We don’t want your money; we want ObamaCare repealed”

AAPS held a briefing yesterday, May 26, at the Cannon House Office Building in DC to educate Congressional and think tank staff members about how ObamaCare damages the patient-physician relationship.

AAPS Executive Director Jane Orient, MD opened the briefing by stating, "We do not come to Washington with our hands out…, we are here to talk about the people who are not on the PPACA organizational charts, namely the patients and the physicians."

Three physicians presented at this event.  Links to watch videos from the briefing are below.  An MP3 audio file of the entire event can be downloaded here.

Congressman Michael Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) outlined what it will take to reverse PPACA and the consequences for America if it isn't repealed.  "Entitlements are a raging fire and PPACA is a gasoline tanker fixing to dump its contents on the fire," warned Dr. Burgess.

Jane Orient, M.D. recounted her previous career as a physician in a single-payer system and how she could not take proper care of her patients without violating the rules.  Click here to watch Dr. Orient's statement & click here to read her statement.

AAPS Board Member, Richard Amerling, M.D. reviewed the downsides of the trend (accelerated by PPACA) of physicians leaving their independent practices and moving into the hospital setting.  Click here to watch Dr. Amerling's statement & click here to read his statement.
