Earlier this week we asked for your help contacting Gov. Christie to ask him to appoint Dr. Alieta Eck. Despite the huge number of call, emails, and petitions in support of Dr. Eck the Governor has appointed someone else.
HOWEVER…
Due to the large show of support for Dr. Alieta Eck an effort is underway to get her name placed on the ballot for the special August primary election for Senate.
Getting Dr. Eck on the ballot requires 1,000 signatures by this MONDAY. This can be done but she needs your help ASAP.
If you are a registered Republican in the state of New Jersey here’s how you can help:
Sign the nominating petition at Dr. Eck’s office: 1056 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854. If after hours or for info call her office phone# 732-463-0303. After you sign, please take copies of the petition and get your friends, family, colleagues to sign. PLEASE DO THIS RIGHT NOW.
For those unable to travel to Dr. Eck’s office she expects to have a version of the petition available for download later today. When this is available you will be alerted by email.

Governor Christie has announced that a special election will be held in October but he will still be appointing an interim Senator in the coming days.

Dr. Eck – the Immediate Past President of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons – is a leader in her community and has advocated for patient-centered solutions for over 20 years.
Through a decade of a working with New Jersey's uninsured, Dr. Eck understands what will really help get those in need back on their feet so they are no longer dependent on government assistance.
Dr. Eck has been numerous times to Capitol Hill – twice at the invitation of Congress – to present the serious ideas that will lower costs, and increase access to care for all Americans without a big government take over.

Short Bio. Dr. Alieta Eck, MD, Past President of AAPS, graduated from the Rutgers College of Pharmacy in NJ and the St. Louis School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. She studied Internal Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ and has been in private practice with her husband, Dr. John Eck, MD in Piscataway, NJ since 1988. She has been involved in health care reform since residency and is convinced that the government is a poor provider of medical care. She testified before the Joint Economic Committee of the US Congress in 2004 about better ways to deliver health care in the United States. In 2003, she and her husband founded the Zarephath Health Center, a free clinic for the poor and uninsured that currently cares for 300-400 patients per month utilizing the donated services of volunteer physicians and nurses. Dr. Eck is the Immediate Past President of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. In addition, she serves on the board of Christian Care Medi-Share, a faith based medical cost sharing Ministry. She is a member of Zarephath Christian Church and she and her husband have five children, one is a physician interning in New Haven, Connecticut.
