RESOLUTION 2025-02: Opposition to Physician Participation in Killing

WHEREAS: “Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD)” is another term for “euthanasia”; and
WHEREAS: euthanasia is murder committed for what someone considers a good reason; and
WHEREAS: murder is murder regardless of the stated reason for committing it; and
WHEREAS: physicians have one calling, which is to support life and to take care of patients; and
WHEREAS: such care requires doing no harm from conception until natural death,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons unequivocally opposes all forms of murder, including euthanasia, intentionally killing a living fetus which would otherwise have a chance to survive, “Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD),” and any and all other forms of murder regardless of euphemisms.
