RESOLUTION 2025-03: Opposition to Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD)

WHEREAS: “Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD)” is another term for euthanasia; and
WHEREAS: physicians have one calling to support life and care for patients; and
WHEREAS: physicians pledge a sacred Hippocratic Oath to care for patients with compassion, respect, and integrity, and to not use our medical knowledge to harm others,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons opposes all forms of “Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD)” or any other term for euthanasia.
