President Obama is attempting to rewrite the Affordable Care Act, announcing this week he will instruct insurers to offer the same plans they were cancelling for an additional year. The problem however, is that he is bypassing the law making body Congress (Heritage Foundation Blog).

Buried in the memo CMS released this week instructing insurers to continue to offer the same plans is a paragraph regarding carriers being eligible for additional payments from the government to offset losses they incurred from Obamacare (Heritage Foundation Blog).

Millions of low to middle income families are going to be subjected to higher income tax thanks to the “High Medical Bills Tax” (Americans for Tax Reform).

By shifting the responsibility of cancelled policies from his health reform law to insurers, President Obama is essentially sidestepping a massive political nightmare for his party (Brookings Institute).

The administration is not being upfront about the skyrocketing Medicaid enrollment that is to come. The already strained program will add up to 19 million Americans over the next 10 years costing the federal government $510 billion in 2023 (GOP Blog).
